Today, August 22, 2023, a delegation of five members of the World Bank visited Upazila Health Complex of Boalmari Upazila and Chandani Community Clinic of Gunabaha Union. Dr. Juan Pablo Uribe, Global Director, Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) Practice of the World Bank and former Minister of Health of Colombia led the team. The delegation also included Dr. Feng Zhao, South Asia Health Manager, Dr. Abdus Sabur, Consultant, Mr. Wameq Raza, Health Specialist and Mr. Rafi Hossain, Operations Officer. During the visit, they visited the emergency department, outpatient department, inpatient department, operation theater and laboratory of the Upazila Health Complex and before they left, they visited the Chandani Community Clinic located at Gunabaha Union. They praised the government of Bangladesh for the improvement of government health management in various areas of health services.
There was a Discussion Meeting with the delegation including various stakeholders and employees of Health Complex. Chairman of Boalmari Upazila Parishad, Executive Engineer of Directorate of Health Engineering, Boalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Boalmari Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer, Project Director of Damien Foundation Faridpur as well as RMO, Medical Officer (Disease Control), Nursing Supervisor, Head Assistant and other staffs of Health Complex were present in the meeting. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Chaired the meeting presented various information and data about the health sector of Boalmari Upazila. After visiting the Upazila Health Complex, team leader Dr. Uribe planted a sapling in the campus.
